The celebration began on Friday, October 15, 1982, with registration at 8:30 a.m. inside the halls of Leesville High School. By 9:00 a.m., alumni gathered for coffee, catching up with classmates, teachers, and friends. At 10:00 a.m., the school assembly brought together current students and returning alumni, blending past and present in a spirited gathering that celebrated the proud legacy of Leesville High. At 12:00 noon, the Holiday Inn hosted the traditional Dutch Treat luncheon, offering laughter and conversation over a meal as alumni reconnected.
That afternoon at 3:00 p.m., the streets of Leesville filled with excitement as the Homecoming Parade rolled down Third Street. Honored classes rode proudly on floats while the marching band, spirit groups, and community organizations added to the energy. Later that evening, at 7:30 p.m., the Wampus Cats faced Sam Houston High School under the Friday night lights at LHS Stadium. The stands were packed with cheering alumni, students, and fans, all united in support of their team and their school.
On Saturday, October 16, 1982, the Homecoming spirit continued with a barbecue at 11:00 a.m. in Leesville City Park, where families and classmates gathered in a relaxed outdoor setting to share stories and celebrate.
