LHS Sports Hall of Fame 2013
Eddie Fuller
Eddie Fuller was the second athlete inducted into the LHS Sports Hall of Fame. Fuller played one year at LHS, but it was a monumental year that propelled him into Wampus Cat history. In a single year at Leesville, he gained 1,831 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns for the black and gold—a record at the time. He eclipsed the single season record by over 600 yards that had been set the previous year by All-State running back Charles Buckley.
Eddie was the linchpin in leading the Cats to a place of winning never seen by the Cats in school history. In the 1985 season, the Cats won the district title and advanced to the LHSAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
For his efforts, Fuller was named First Team All-District and All-State and signed a letter of intent to play at LSU.
While at LSU, he earned 4 varsity letters while playing for Coaches Bill Arnsparger and Mike Archer. Fuller played in the Sugar Bowl, the Gator Bowl and the Hall of Fame and caught the famed “Earthquake” catch against Auburn in 1988. After college. Fuller was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. He remained in the NFL for 4 years and was on the Bills’ Super Bowl Rosters during the early 1990s.
Eddie’s brother, Vincent, was also a great athlete and earned All-State honors and followed his brother to LSU.
